this morning i had a dream that Scout was still alive even though we had put him to sleep. he made it through it and i was holding him the entire time and the vets were saying they needed to try again and i was yelling at everyone telling saying no one would ever touch him again and my grandmother who has been dead for eight years or something was in it too and i have never had a dream about it before. it wasn’t a nightmare or anything it was nice to be holding him again but i woke up in tears at like five in the morning and i haven’t been to sleep since.

Over at Daytrotter, Casey Dienel’s White Hinterland project have turned in a pretty great session and the highlight might just be their take on Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”. Stripping back all of the super-pop-production and pro-tools magic to just the core melody, we’re treated to a gorgeous, ethereal take on the pop jam. It’s pretty much just vocal layering and a quiet, crackling beat that backs her up, but it’s pretty much perfect. A must listen.
